Life has a way of sifting humans in different ways. Not even twins get to experience life in the same way. The wind of life blows childhood friends in different directions, smiling at some while frowning at others. We can never all be at the same level for we are meant to accomplish different missions and serve different destinies. However, it takes wisdom to know that no one lives for himself and no one dies to himself. When life gives you a head start it’s never meant for your good alone but for the people that in one way or another God connects you to. Joseph understood this principle and acknowledged that his experiences and ultimate breakthrough were for the preservation of many lives. God did not promote Joseph for his own selfish good or to balance off the bad experiences with his brothers, God did it for the preservation of other lives. God gave Joseph a head start and an opportunity to help others. Their prophetic destinies remained unchanged and God was not doing away with others in promoting him. He promoted him for the others and for a season. His brothers may have wronged him yes, but Joseph remained Joseph while Judah remained Judah! Where are you tempted to think God has given you a head start because you are better off than others? Where have you failed to realize God’s mission in promoting you is for the preservation of other lives? How many lives are you touching with your job, experiences or gifting? Do you just live and accumulate for own self? God gave you that position to influence and touch the lives of others. It was not a reward because you are better since there are others who are more qualified than you. The reason is there are lives that God wants to touch and he can only do it through you. Don’t seek for salutations, seek avenues for service!
