Blessed beyond a curse!

The other day someone called me telling me how they are enduring multiple struggles in their lives. The person has lost several jobs and recently decided to start a business trusting God to establish the work of our hands. The business is located amongst many other business premises and the person was surprised to find all the stock destroyed overnight one of the mornings. The person believes they are under a curse and requires special prayers. I took time to encourage them telling them there is no curse that can work against God’s people. When you submit your life under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, every curse in your life is broken, your sins are forgiven and your name is written in the Book of life which is the only book that matters. If God convicts you of a seed you planted whose consequences are following you, repent and where possible seek reconciliation and then you are good to go. The scriptural account of Apostle Paul traveling to Rome is a story that should encourage anyone facing multiple problems. Paul had just escaped death from Jews extremists who were baying for his blood. He was left to lot in a Roman jail by a governor who expected to be bribed. On his journey to Rome, they faced a fierce storm that made them despair of life to a point of suffering a shipwreck. When they got to an island called Malta, the man of God was collecting firewood to warm himself when a snake came out of the woods and bit him. Everybody thought what you would think; this man is under a curse. Paul may have been tempted to think the same considering the many problems that followed him. But he knew the truth of God’s word that what God has blessed cannot be cursed. Paul knew that the problems were not a sign that the devil was winning but were rather the kicks of a dying enemy. He just shook the snake off his hand and continued warming himself. What problems are pursuing you to an extent of thinking that you are under a curse? Where have people concluded like in the case of Paul that God is punishing you for some mistakes? Where are you almost tempted to think that God is against you? When the challenges of life multiply against you, do what Paul did; shake the snake off and keep going. The devil knows there is great potential in you and that is why he is pursuing you. God has got you covered and like Paul, the snake poison will not harm you. When they see you resilience and the fact that you are not giving up, they will surely confess that God Almighty is within you. Don’t sweat the frustrated vipers biting you, just shake them off!
“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.” Psalms‬ ‭34:19-20‬ ‭NIV‬‬
