The allure for comfort is something that many of us desire in life. We long to have an enjoyable, good and easy life and as much as possible avoid challenges and problems. However, God in His wisdom ensures that in life we have an equal share of both. He knows that an easy life would only make weaklings out of us for comfort never make any of us strong. Strength comes when we press through to break obstacles in life. Jesus in the scriptures told His followers to strive and enter through the narrow door. He encouraged them not to long for the easy and comfortable paths of life but if need be to embrace opportunities where they have to press and struggle through. Jesus knew many people would prefer to pursue the easy and struggle free paths of life whose end is weakness and destruction. Where are you running away from challenges instead of pressing on and coming out more strong? Where do we construe challenges to indicate that God has blocked a path for us. None of the great people in the scriptures had it easy. Nobody had so much clarity for his visions like Moses but he still had to contend with Pharaoh. David was sure if his anointing but still had to contend with King Saul. Don’t pray that God makes things easy for you in life. Pray that God may give you the strength and resilience to fight. God’s great men and women are not made through comfort but rather through the crucible of trials and afflictions. Embrace your narrow door of struggles and challenges today!
““Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.” Luke 13:24 NIV
