Being a father is a great opportunity and a real privilege. They are indeed blessed those who know the joy of fatherhood and are involved in the life of their families. They put their lives on the line on behalf of their families and invest time with them. They are role models to their children as they take time to understand the fears, pains and aspirations of their children. They understand that the greatest love they can show their children is not buying them toys but being available for them and loving their mothers. They are felt in their families not because they shout the loudest but they allow their positive influence to be felt. They give guidance and provide loving correction to their families. They endeavour to provide daily bread and even thou they are jobless, they don’t abdicate their responsibilities but jointly with the help of their spouses cover the shame of their families. They facilitate a reconciliation environment in their families without harboring grudges and they do not quit in relationships because they know what is not perfect can be worked out.. They are experts at protecting their families and they do not feel threatened for theirs is the kingdom the power and the glory for as long as they are around their families. The most wonderful thing is that they don’t have to be males but equally all single mothers who have single handedly stood for their children bearing all the pressures of parenting. To such may God bless, uphold and with dignity celebrate a Happy Father’s Day!
“So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.” Luke 15:20 NIV
