Many are the times the will of man and the purposes of God crash. The Lord Jesus taught us to always say,”not my will but your will be done”. This is largely because human desire are limited and selfish in nature. The Kingdom of God entails us allowing God to have his way in every area of our lives. You can imagine the betrayal Jacob felt after working for seven years to get Rachael only for him to be given Leah. An example of moments when our desire and God’s purpose seems to crash. I know he was reaping what he sowed but the rest of his life shows divine appointments in his disappointments. The woman he loved could not easily have children, and actually died when she was getting her second born. Jacob’s choice would have limited God’s ultimate purpose for his life and retrospectively, it was the disappointment that helped him. When Jacob’s love moved from Rachael to Joseph, destiny played out and he was to spend the rest of his life mourning his apparently dead son. Underneath all these frustrations were the everlasting hands! Where are you feeling shortchanged in life? Where have your personal desires crashed with God’s purposes? What is happening in your life that you can’t seem to understand? It’s time to surrender! You don’t have a right to your life. He has! Why not submit and tell him today, “not my will Lord, but let yours be done”!
“And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”” Acts 9:5 NKJV
