One of the most beautiful things about life is it’s paradoxes. It has an interesting way of playing tricks on us . When we think we have everything figured out, surprises springs up for us in ways we cannot imagine. Quite often we want to associate with the powerful and influential members of the society in the hope that they will come through for us when we are down and help us. We help specific people in the hope that they will help us in turn when we need help. However, you soon realize that it is the people you ignore and often assume that come to your aid when you are down. Life is not a straight line and the person you may be ignoring today may become your main pillar tomorrow. The Scriptures talks of Jesus the rejected stone that paradoxically becomes the Chief Cornerstone. Help does not always come from the sources we think. Which stones are you rejecting today? Do you derive your worth from the powerful and influential people in the society not knowing that God is known to turn tables? Do you avoid some people because you disdain them on the basis of their looks, tribes, health or financial standing not knowing they are still God’s work in progress? It is the people we never imagined helping us that become our greatest supporters when we are helpless.
“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;” Psalm 118:22 NIV
