For those who have had an opportunity to visit a labor ward, the word push comes out naturally. As much as it’s not always fun for our sisters, it reminds me that life first lesson is a push. I believe that this first push prepares us for what to expect the rest of our lives. Nothing comes easily in life and we must always push through the many obstacles that blocks our path for progress. Before the advancement of medical science that allows for CS delivery, inability to push from the womb in the early days was tantamount to death. Jesus gave so many parables in the scriptures to show that we must always push and not give up. We must push in prayers, push for a miracle, push for reconciliation and believe that whatever we conceptualize by faith is possible. The most unfortunate thing we are facing these days is a culture of quitting at the slightest excuse. We have lost the discipline of holding on or pushing through. We are very good at starting something but very poor finishers. Unfortunately life is largely judged by how we finish and not how we start! It always feels great to start something but greater glory lies in finishing. If you start a race, purpose to finish it. Life’s first lesson is a push and always starts as a shocker for the faint hearted. This is life’s way of separating jokers from those serious enough to persevere and receive what was promised. Perseverance is a great habit of all winners. Its not easy to be a wife or a husband and there are reasons to quit but remember we have great families from people that have developed staying power! Starting a business is difficult yes and the temptation is always to quit, but we still have great businesses from people who purposed not to quit. Everything is tough, you’ve got to fight your way through and push through like the winner you were born to be. If you started it, purpose to finish it and never start if you ain’t ready to finish!
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24 NIV
