The Olympics in Japan were postponed this year because of Corona Virus. Am eagerly looking forward to the event next year which is one of my favorite when it comes to sports. I enjoy watching track races. If you keen especially during the short races, you’ll realize that the runners are always arranged in a peculiar manner in the field. Those in the outer circles are somehow ahead of their compatriots while those in the inner circles are a distant behind. It takes time to realize this has to do with the circumferences to be covered by each runner. As we journey through life, the temptation to compare ourselves with others is always there. The secret lies in knowing that because of our different assignments in this short life, a separate track is allocated for each of us. It therefore pays to mind our own business. Each of us has his own track. Some are in the inner track while others are in the outer track. Some of the runners seem ahead while others appear behind! God knows where He will balance it all! The secret is each of us keeping to their own track without envying our neighbors track but rather appreciating our own. Everybody is fighting battles, fears and anxieties you will never get to know. Remember you will be disqualified if you change tracks, cut corners or decide to run in the opposite direction. This life race has rules! God is not a respecter of persons and He will never bend his standards for ours. Where are you tempted to cut in? Who are you envying who seems to be doing better than you? Where do you feel disadvantaged in life? You only know where you are but you can’t see ahead. Run your race and trust the one who assigned you the track for He knows and understands your capability better! No matter what happens, run your race and mind your own business!
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”1 Corinthians 9:24 NIV
