It’s the pride of every business to open its doors to customers. There is a unique feeling that we get when we open our shops and places of business. This is especially so when you do so without necessarily having a customer in mind but in the faith that someone will come and buy a good or a service. An open business keeps hope alive and one gets an assurance that things will end differently. This reminds me of the scriptures where God promised his faithful servants through prophet Isaiah that their gates will always remain open so that his blessings can continue flowing. Quite often we get into the temptation of closing the doors in our lives when things do not seem to be moving as we anticipate. God is asking us to leave the doors of hope open. God’s blessings can knock on our door when we least expect. Even when we think that we should close, we should leave the doors of our hope and expectancy from God always open. Their is wealth from the nations that God is always bringing the ways of his people. Unfortunately many times we lose hope and shut out the doors of our expectancy. We even forget the prayers we’ve been praying over the years. We reach a point where we think it’s late and God cannot act. Where has waiting on God made you lose hope that God will ever intervene? Where have you closed a door you consider a painful reminder of how God failed you? What doors of expectancy may God be asking you to open afresh today? God is still asking us to keep our gates open. He who visited Abraham and Sarah in what appeared late at night can still do it again in your life today.
“Your gates will always stand open, they will never be shut, day or night, so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations— their kings led in triumphal procession.” Isaiah 60:11 NIV
