Many times when we are facing challenges, we find ourselves looking for someone who can get us out of the mess. Quite often however, the people we cry to for help or hope can come to our rescue are not always in a position to help. The story of Joseph in the scriptures who was throne into a pit with no one coming to his rescue is a perfect example. Reuben his elder brother wanted to help only for Joseph to be sold before his plan could materialize. God made it difficult for Reuben to help. Challenges are the exams that God uses to grow us in the school of life. Joseph was not going to escape God’s exam. God in his wisdom always makes it difficult for those people who would wish to come and help us. Where are you feeling let down by close friends or colleagues because they did not help when you expected them to? Consider that God in his wisdom may have made it difficult for them to help, and all for your good. Do not run away from the pressures that God wants to use in making you his perfect example of christlikeness. Do not wish someone pulls you out of your pit apart with God’s prompting for to do so would be to abort your destiny. Every pit is preparing us for a throne!
