We all know the need of silence and concentration when we are undertaking a serious assignment. During exams, notices are placed all over asking people to observe silence as exams are in progress. We all know what it means to retreat somewhere in quietness when you have serious business to do. That’s why working from home is not working well for many given the many disruptions there especially from children. This reminds me that even God in the scriptures when carrying out a major task, always preferred to work uninterrupted. We can remember when God caused Adam to sleep to create for him a helper. Although He could have done it with Adam awake, He put him into a deep sleep. I can’t imagine the interference He would have encountered if Adam was awake. Another case is when Jacob was living in Canaan amongst the canaanites. Sin had started infecting his family and to make sure His purposes remained firm, God had to send seven years of famine that saw Jacob’s family relocate to Egypt for over 400 years. God rarely brings major disruptions without a purpose. Times of disruptions are often opportunities that God gives us to go back to the basics of what is important and asks of us to reset our compasses. What is God speaking to you as you go through Covid 19 disruptions? What could God be seeking to preserve when it comes to you and your family? Where could God be resetting you for a major relaunch? There are no experiences that are wasted with God. Should He take you down to Egypt, there is something He wants to grow or increase in you! Don’t allow this experience to go to waste.
““I am God, the God of your father,” he said. “Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.” Genesis 46:3 NIV
