Happy Resurrection Sunday! Today we celebrate the gift of Easter Sunday, a day that represents the resurrection of Hope after despair and pain that comes with Good Friday. As many of us know, problems and challenges have a way of clouding our thinking and affects our decision making. They warp our focus and mess our ability to reason or remember things clearly. After witnessing the tragedy of Good Friday, the disciples minds were disoriented and were overcome by grief and despair. Despite Jesus having repeated to them so many times that after His death He will rise again on the third day, none of them was remembering that promise. It’s interesting that nobody remembered the many times he reassured them of his resurrection. That’s why even the women were visiting the tomb the following Sunday morning to just prepare and anoint his body. It took an Angel to remind them the promise of resurrection. Many times we allow the thoughts of death and despair to cloud our thinking such that we never remember the promise of resurrection. The Pharisees were more afraid of Jesus promise of resurrection that they posted guards on the tomb than were his disciples. How often do we forget God’s promises when we find ourselves in some tragic situations? How many of us cannot even think clearly today because of the fear associated with Corona virus? Despite the many times that God has come through for us in similar situations in the past, we get worried how a given mess will turn out. We have the tendency to forget what Jesus told us during the day when we get into a dark spot. Where is God reminding you as the Angel reminded the women, to remember what He told you? May this resurrection morning, bring hope afresh to you as you remember every word that Jesus has promised regarding the situation that you are going through. More so remember that He shall be with you until the end of ages!
“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:” Luke 24:6 NIV
