To many of us, life is a continuous battle between Good and evil. We live in a world where evil seems to triumph. When we look at the prevalent evils in our society today, the injustices, crime, impunity, corruption, etc, it is possible to feel that being good does not stand any chance in modern civilization. That is what the Apostles felt when they saw Jesus arrested, condemned using lying witnesses and crucified. Evil was having a field day and seemed to triumph. However, the Great Designer of the universe determined since the beginning of time that evil will never have the last shout. Accordingly, the Scriptures says it was impossible for death to hold Jesus. Just the way darkness will never hold light, it’s impossible for death to hold the one who does not deserve its wages. We can have the encouragement to continue doing good because we know that no matter how long it takes, evil will never triumph over good. As long as you are on the side of good, evil can never get hold of you. Where have you questioned whether it pays to serve God? Where do you feel like evil is having a field day? What hopes stand dashed and what dreams appear unjustly dimmed? Be sure that as long as you stand on the side of what is Good, it’s just impossible for death to have any hold on you!
“But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” Acts 2:24 NIV
