Servants on horses!

When the Bill of rights was enshrined in the Kenyan constitution, it changed the ballgame where people became more ware of their individual rights. As much as we are not there yet, gone are the times when people rights used to be abused without them being aware of it. Increased protests and legal actions against those who violate the rights of others are examples of how the citizens have become more aware of what their rights are. The problem is where we have rights that are protected by the constitution but we are not aware of them which makes it easier for others to abuse them. This is what happens for God’s children who have so many promises but we are not aware of them. We go through life walking on foot as Solomon put it when we are supposed to ride on horses. We get a raw deal from life and all because we do not know what Bill of rights God has provided about our situations. The scriptural account of the prophet Daniel during captivity in Babylon going through the scriptures to understand what God had said about their captivity is a good example. In the 9th Chapter of his book, Daniel explains how he was reading the book of Jeremiah the prophet when he got to know that God had not confined them to exile forever but for 70 years. Daniel did the maths and realized that the 70 years were over and did what God wanted someone to do. He claimed God’s promise of restoration based on what God had said. This made God send an angel to Daniel immediately to assure him it will be done. What captivity are you in but you do not understand your rights? Where is the child of the Great King of the universe eating with swines like a prodigal and all because you don’t know what God says regarding your rights? Where are you ignorant of your bill of rights and you are walking while servants ride on horses. Unless we take time to understand what God says regarding our situations, we shall continue suffering in situations where God wants to set us free. It’s important to know your legal rights so as to claim them before God. God will not refuse you what is rightfully yours if you claim his promises today,
