So Close Yet so Far!

How often do situations in our lives turn so negative that we can’t figure a way out? I have realized quite often God loves driving us to an end where nothing within the human realms would seem to work. We find ourselves outnumbered and physically speaking we are dead meat. Faith is believing the God of the humanly impossible. There is a story in the scriptures of severe famine in besieged City of Samaria where even women were eating their children. The situation was so severe that eating a descent meal was considered an impossibility. When the King turned to prophet Elisha seeking explanation from God on this, Elisha told the messenger that God would revert the situation in 24hours. Impossible!, was the word that came out of the messenger’s mouth. Even if it’s to rain continuously, that won’t change anything in 24hours. That’s the human reasoning. We look at things from the natural perspective trying to analyze God with our limited knowledge. When we do this we attract a curse on ourselves. When we limit God by doubting him, we limit our ability to enjoy the associated blessings. Elisha told the man that he will see it with his eyes but won’t eat a thing. The man saw it but died without tasting of it. Could God be warning you because you think there is no future for your children, your job, your country or your spouse when you look at the current circumstances? Could God be telling you that you will see them prosper but you won’t eat of it? What seems beyond the reach of God in your current circumstances? What have you said or thought before that you may need to confess to God today for forgiveness? If you can’t figure it out, respond like Ezekiel when asked about the dry bones, – only you God knows!
“He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”” Ezekiel‬ ‭37:3‬ ‭NIV‬
