Did you know that the strongest and tallest of trees are not found in the calmest and peaceful of areas but rather those located in the most windy and stormy of climates. They must take their roots deep down the soil in such of support. The same things happen in our lives. A calm life produces weaklings but to the contrary, challenges and problems have a way of hardening people. The scriptural story of Joseph is a perfect example of how God uses challenges and problems to strengthen his people. God used challenges to prepare Joseph who was a weakling as a youth for his roles ahead. He needed the skills he learned in his challenges in Potiphar’s house, in the Egyptian jail as well as during his role as Egypt’s Prime Minister. What challenges may you be going through which you don’t seem to understand? How differently would you respond if you knew God is preparing you for a peculiar role in coming days? When I was young they used to tell me life’s best school is the school of hard knocks. Don’t suffer a double loss where you lose through the challenge and then lose the lesson. God is up to something!
“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:3-4 NKJV
