The greener grass on the other side

Quite often when things get tough, the immediate temptation we get is to run away. We are looking for friendly environments that can support our survival instincts. God develops his own through challenges. His expectations of us when things change is that our faith in him will be stronger than our fear of the changing environments. Our faith should never be in our circumstances but rather in the God of the circumstances.  Naomi’s and her family made a mistake when they left the famine ravaged Bethlehem to free to Moab. They fled from the temporal and compromised the longterm. Mind you others prospered in the same place where they were running away from. Do you have a freeing mentality? Are you the kind that runs away each time things get thick? God is asking you to trust him where you are. He is not only God of the mountains, but also God of the Valleys! He is God where you are! God never meets us where we should have been but rather, He meets us where we are!

“Now there was a famine in the land—besides the previous famine in Abraham’s time—and Isaac went to Abimelek king of the Philistines in Gerar. The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live.” Genesis‬ ‭26:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬
