The Shepherd and his sheep!

Welcome to August 2020! We are strongly marching through these uncharted paths of life amidst fears and uncertainties associated with Covid 19. Numbers continue to rise as the pandemic hits closer to where we are. Many are afraid and scared but amidst all these the days move on. We have just 5 months to go to the end of the year. Let me remind you those famous words of the scriptures that describes the Lord as our Shepherd. He does the leading and our work is to do the following. It’s not the sheep that do the choosing of where they intend to go, that is the work of the shepherd. We may have never figured out how this year will turn out but irrespective of where we are today, we must acknowledge that the shepherd is still at work even amidst this pandemic. God has not taken a vacation leaving us on our own. He is still in control and He is still good. We may not see the green pastures promised us but we must by faith embrace that even that which looks distasteful to us is still good pastures. Two of my prayer partners were sharing how they have seen God at work during this season. One expected the business to be negatively affected but in ways he cannot explain, sales have continued to soar and they have managed to hit their numbers over this season. The other was owed quite a huge some of money for years that we have been trusting God for release to a point where we almost gave up. He cannot explain how God moved the hearts of these corporate debtors to pay him over these pandemic season. He is keeping strong despite the gloom outside. These are testimonies of God’s abiding faithfulness. Sometimes we can only see God’s light when we are in the midst of darkness. Where is God asking you to look back and see how He has carried you through this period? Where can you testify of God’s faithful guidance amidst this pandemic? Amidst the negative confessions, who can you encourage with a testimony of God’s faithfulness over this season? God’s faithfulness does not take a break because the environment has become toxic. He knows very well how to take care of his own during difficult moments. He has done it before, He is doing it today and He will continue doing it because his faithfulness abides throughout all generations!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
