The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority in Kenya has been running a campaign to sensitize Kenyans about the billions in unclaimed assets that they are holding. The amount which is in excess of 3 billion includes money that was left in bank accounts, share accounts and other financial assets by people who are dead or are not aware. They are asking Kenyans to register with their ID and see if they could be unknowing beneficiaries of such amounts. This reminds me of the many blessings that lie in store for God’s children and which they are not aware about. The scriptures exhorts us to approach God’s throne with confidence that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our times of need. Believers have a Father – Children relationship where God has committed to be there for his children. All we have to do is ask and we shall receive, seek and we shall find and knock and God will open doors for us. God invites us to ask from the wealth of his promises and to seek as many promises that are available from the mine of his word. He encourages us to knock his heavenly abode with hands holding onto his promises. Only eternity shall reveal the wealth that God has in store for us and which we never claimed because we never mined the promises contained in his word. The Apostle paul said that as long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave. God desires that we mature up and know what riches we have in his promises so that we can ask of them. Slaves do not know their entitlement but children do. We must read God’s word and know the things that God has freely given us. His divine powers has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Christ. Where could our suffering be stemming out of our ignorance? What inheritance has God given you but is lying unclaimed in his promises? Where could interacting with the word of God more make you more aware of your rights as a child of God? God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all the truth and this includes the truth of his promises for us. Your name is in God’s list of beneficiaries but you must show up to ask. If God gave us Jesus, won’t He also along with him give us all things? Run to the throne of grace today, check what is written against your name and be courageous enough to ask!
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 NIV
