When God closes a door!

Humans love convenience and easily gets used to a pattern of doing things. We get used to old habits, old friends, locations and any attempt to change the status quo is resented. We loath disruptions of something we’ve gotten used to but our Heavenly Father is a progressive God. No sooner than we build castles in a place we love than God comes and says, you’ve stayed in one place for too long, it’s time to move. Life is a progressive path with highs and lows none of which lasts. Enjoy the good moments but also take courage in knowing that tough times equally will not last. We serve a God who opens doors and also closes them. What He opens no one can shut and what He shuts no one can open. When the grace for the moment is gone, we have to learn to move on and not linger on past memories. When we delay in previous locations, God is equally good in pushing us out. Like a mother eagle that pushes her eaglets out of the nest when they are strong enough to fly, God might be stirring your nest. You may be afraid of falling. But God’s intent is to get you to fly. When God shuts a door, trust him for the next step in your journey and thank him for the moments that are now gone. It could be a job you’ve lost, a friend you’ve lost, a dear relative who has passed on etc. Mourn if you must but continue with life. Our Captain never changes or dies. Stop living in the past and reliving the good old days, live for the moment because God is a progressive God. When I lost my childhood guardian I still remember the Captain giving me these instructions in the midst of my pain, before she was, I was and even now when she’s gone, I remain. Moments come and go but the Captain remains!
“Don’t ask, “How is it that the former days were better than these?” because it isn’t wise to ask this.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:10‬
