Sight is one thing I am always grateful to God for. I will eternally be grateful to God for the use of my eyes. I have heard all manner of things about people who see beyond what is not common for ordinary mortals but I don’t have that privilege. Am not mystic and you can bet many times when I say that God told me something, more likely than not is from his word. I have never had the privilege of seeing an angel leave alone a demon and to be honest I don’t have a desire for those sights. I don’t even watch horror movies. I know there is a world beyond what the ordinary eyes can see because the word of God tells me so. The scriptural account of Balaam riding a donkey that was known to be very obedient and then all of a sudden stopped and would not move is such an example. The donkey saw an Angel with a drawn sword and no matter how many times Balaam tried to push it, the donkey didn’t move. It ended up speaking and God had to open the prophet’s eyes to see what that donkey was seeing. I wonder how many of us are beating our donkeys to move when it’s God who has closed our paths. How many times do we beat donkeys that won’t move in our relationships, in business or jobs, in ministry and other areas. Some of the paths we are forcing God to open today are closed for our good. When the donkey won’t move, it pays to ask God to open our eyes and cause us to perceive why our obedient donkeys stopped. When things that were working change, don’t fight them, there could be a death Angel who has crossed our paths and God is desiring to preserve us. You can be sure when God closes a window, it’s because He has a better door elsewhere. Stop beating your donkey, ask God to give you deep insight!
“The angel of the Lord asked him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.” Numbers 22:32 NIV
