We are going through a season of fear and apprehension as Covid 19 numbers continues to rise. The numbers not only of those infected but also the casualties of this Pandemic. Fear has gripped the hearts of many as those we know becomes victims and we are left wondering who might be next. We feel all the more vulnerable as the government seems helpless in the face of this Pandemic. Whereas fear is a natural human response under such circumstances, we can take comfort in knowing that beyond what we can see and feel is a God who holds our lives in his hands. The Scriptures says that it is in God that we live, we move and we have our being. We are not helpless children of fate or victims of circumstances . There is a God who controls every detail in our lives and determines the beginning and the end of it. The Corona virus pandemic is not beyond him and is just another tool in the Master’s hands. It’s not that the devil is winning this battle, God is right in the midst of it. He guides the steps of his children every place they go and whomsoever they come into contact with. This is not in any way to mean that He is not the God of those affected. Some of God’s faithful children may still get infected and in fact some may become casualties but God is still in absolute control of it. If only in this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all men to be most pitied. We have a hope that goes beyond the current challenge. We can stand like Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego in the face of Covid 19 fire and say boldly that our God is able to save us from this monster but even if He does not, we shall never doubt his intentions for us and the fact that He is in absolute control. We refuse to tremble with fear as the buy more and more body bags for we know the life and not death has the final say in our lives. Where are you allowing fear to torment you? Where are you getting stressed because of the unfolding scenario? Where do you feel like God has failed or is being defeated? Jesus our Captain is the life and the resurrection. Live your life with confidence knowing that we are death proof until God’s mission for our lives is completed!
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!” Psalms 139:16-17 NIV
