You will cross over safely!

We are living at a time where we know very well that it’s possible to start a journey and fail to complete it. In a world where many people start but never finish, there is always something to be grateful for when you make it to finish your journey. We also know there are many reasons both internal and external that can inhibit us from reaching our destination. There is one journey that believers are participating in and so many things in between casts doubt as to whether we shall make it safely on the other side. Jesus started this journey in the lives of many of us when He asked us to join him and cross over on the other side of the shore. We expected the journey in between to be easy because we have him in the boat. But quite so often major storms have tried to cut short our journey. Storms of fear, doubt, failure, family breakups, sicknesses and diseases, loss of loved ones, painful addictions, amongst many others, have rocked our boat of faith making us doubt whether we shall make it safely on the other shore. What is more frustrating is the fact that quite often when we call Jesus, He seems to have slept on us. May I remind us that when He asked us to cross over, He never promised us a calm journey. He only promised that no matter what happens in between we shall make it on the other end. What storms are beating your boat today? Where are you struggling to remove water from your boat? Where is Jesus seeming to have slept on your problems? Don’t let this deter you from completing the journey. Keep faith alive! We shall soon safely arrive on the other shore!
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭NIV‬
